North View Cottage

OUTSIDE AREAS

The cottage was constructed circa 1875 with random stone, and over the years the mortar has crumbled and failed.  Previous owners have attempted to repair the mortar pointing to the 2 gable ends, and in some cases used large amounts of sand and cement to cover the gaps!

It is our inention to have both gable ends repointed, no small job!
These are "before" pictures, showing poor condition of present mortar.

The front of the cottage has at some point been repointed and this is in acceptable condition, but to the rear, the stone walls have been painted, and we may consider rendering these rear walls, together with the red brick walls of the bathroom extension.
