North View Cottage

The cottage has finally been renamed "NORTH VIEW", and the name plate is now in situ on the front stone wall.

The old deeds dating back to circa 1850s, show the cottage was known as North View Cottage, but for many previous years has not been named, only having a street number.

While visiting a local market, we spotted this picture for sale on an antique flea market stall.

It appears to be a print of "Old Newcastle Quayside" - it states in reign of Queen Elizabeth.

We have now unpacked the copper kettle collection that we have accumulated over several years...some of them being family "heirlooms".

Sitting Room fireplace

When we bought the bedroom furniture, part of the package was a heavy pine mirror. However, already having bedroom mirrors in place, decided to hang this pine mirror above the sitting room fireplace.
Our problem now, reviewing the pictures, have we hung it upside down?

Mirror or window?

Last Christmas, we were given a beautiful mirror hand crafted by my son, made with mosaic tiles. Unsure which room to put it in, hubby came up with idea of fitting it in the hallway, quite high, to correspond with the stained glass window.

It looks fantastic, especially when the lights are on, creating an optical illusion effect - is it a mirror, or is it a window?
